Why Provence ?

For over 26 years I have spent summers in Provence with my family and during those hot summer days I fell in love with the region, the chilled rose wine for spring and summer and the full bodied red wines for autumn and winter, along with the wonderful food. Where the restaurants offer such good value and make you feel special and the daily street markets with local freshly picked fruit, vegetables, fish, countless regional cheeses, meat and flowers of every colour and size you could think of. At meal times tables are laid with highly coloured Provence table linens and local hand painted pottery tableware. Driving through the countryside and looking at all these lovely people eating alfresco in the sunshine, it occurred to me that maybe I could bring Provence to England and so in February 2003 I did just that.

I have a 14th century cottage and it is filled with lovely Provence table linens, hand painted pottery, french soaps from Le Lavandin de Grignan/Durance and Le Savonnerie de Villefranche.
